Hatha Yoga instructor: Amelia Smith
Hatha yoga focuses on teaching students physical postures, breathing practices, and concentration and meditation techniques. Hatha yoga creates vibrant physical health, self-awareness, and provides a forum where individuals can access their inner wisdom and capacity for joy.
In this class you will develop:
Strength;
Flexibility;
Core strength and stability;
Endurance (mental and physical);
Body Awareness; and
Overall health and wellness.
In Hatha Yoga you will practice:
seated, standing, and balancing poses;
yoga on your belly;
yoga on your back;
inversions (upside-down poses);
developing self awareness;
creating your body-mind connection;
healthy and deep breathing techniques;
learning the foundation of yoga practice;
basic yoga philosophy; and
concentration / meditation techniques.
